Piotr Zalewski is the Turkey correspondent for Polityka, Poland’s bestselling news magazine, and an editor at European Stability Initiative, a think tank that studies Turkish EU relations.

He is also a contributor to a number of English language publications including Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The National, Insight Turkey and Turkish Policy Quarterly.

Prior to coming to Turkey he was the European Parliament’s press spokesperson on human rights, CIA renditions, and climate change.

He earlier covered EU-Turkey relations for the Centre for International Relations in Warsaw.

He holds a BA degree in history from Columbia University, as well as graduate degrees from the Jagiellonian University, the University of Exeter and the College of Europe.
