Aisling is Political Tours’ Programme Manager and has been organising study visits and exchange programmes between the UK and overseas for almost 10 years. Before joining Political Tours she worked with the British Association for Central and Eastern Europe and the international wing of the UK’s Local Government Association.

Aisling is currently midway through a PhD in Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, UK. Her research interest is municipal decentralisation as a mechanism for managing ethnic conflict and cultural diversity in the Republic of Macedonia.

She lived and worked in the Republic of Macedonia between 2004 and 2006, and has worked on a variety of local government support projects in Kosovo since 2004.

Her particular areas of expertise are: ethnic conflict management, peace processes and power-sharing arrangements, political decentralisation, and social cohesion policies, both in the UK and Western Balkans region.
